Nouns need a full-time team of vetted executors and operators committed to building, organizing, and completing work. This isn't a criticism of anyone within Nouns, but in my eight months here, I haven't encountered anyone in the community with the real-world operational experience or capacity to take on this role effectively—or who wants to. Outside of the website/content/social dilemma and where things should live, we also need stronger support and onboarding for current and new holders. Proposals require more thorough vetting, management, and maintenance to ensure they have the best chance of success. Once a proposal passes, a dedicated team should guide it and maximize its potential. We have more than enough talent within Nouns to organize these teams and hire new folks within our community for specific projects, which is the current mission of /cares.

"Haven't encountered anyone in the community with the real-world operational experience or capacity" combined with some of the unsavory comments about Nouns' future without your help makes it sound like you feel entitled to a Nouns funded marketing and management agency. I don't think this turns out well for 99% of the DAO that isn't in your inner circle.

Having met with over 40 Noun holders in person or on calls, I can confidently say the talent and experience are here. However, many folks are either completely burned out or simply don’t have the bandwidth or interest to step in. I’m not suggesting it needs to be me - I know the talent exists within our community. My point is that there are obvious gaps where things are falling through the cracks. Just as we rely on retained help for development and internal guidance (builder/esports/VRBS etc), we should approach maintaining our foundation with the same level of commitment. Again, this doesn’t have to be me—I’d actually prefer it to be someone who’s been here longer—but the reality is that these issues are glaringly obvious to anyone coming in from the outside. Without proper support, the experience becomes even more turbulent, especially for new holders. DAO or not, when has structure in these areas ever hurt a group effort of this size?
