Front end people, what do you think of the vercel seemingly doing the Microsoft 30 yr old “embrace and extend” strategy?

Caveat: I know very little about frontend development.

I found it weird that replit (what I use to build frontend) used vite instead of nextjs because its what I see everyone using. But saw Amjad (replit founder) explain it’s because of this and appreciate replit all the more.

another reason not to use nextjs is it has alot of issue with xss and prototype pollution vulnerbilities
