I will be visiting Amsterdam with my wife this weekend, anybody got recommendations for restaurants (especially local food), places to visit and stuff to do?

- local dutch food is lacking so no recs lol (avoid turist traps) - museums: rijksmuseum (old), van gogh, stedelijk (modern), moco (contemporary, incl. NFTs) - the center is all very walkable, just explore the canals! - use the (free) ferry to go to NDSM and check out the street art - ๐ŸƒSloterplaas or Amsterdamse Bos

Here are my 2 cents for local food: Van 't Spit (at least it has a Dutch name). Piet de Leeuw is known for his steak. A bit more chic Paardenburgh in Ouderkerk has been serving Dutch cuisine for more than 375 years

Perhaps some strategically placed 'delicacies' like appeltaart with morning coffee, bitterballen with that 17.00 beer and a broodje haring in between. Oude kaas is probably traditional Dutch most tasteful product. As to more substantial food: The Indonesian and Surinam kitchens are local too!
