As a bigblocker that also lived through the Blocksize War I mostly agree with your take.

For me the extreme censorship practiced by smallblockers was unacceptable.

And seeing how LN fared out, with most users going through custodial services, I believe bigblockers were right.

I was a big blocker too and was disgusted by the amount of acrimony and censorship going on back then (by Theymos et al.). I abandoned Bitcoin and sold all my BTC… which now leads me to say that being principled is an expensive affair. Thankfully I got into Ethereum instead so I didn’t give up on crypto altogether.
