Rust is not a particularly good language, but has enough community and industry mindshare to make it a pragmatic choice.

What language do you think is particularly good?

OCaml and Racket. Languages that are very powerful but somehow keep the code simple.

I agree Ocaml is a good language (not familiar enough with Racket). I think Rust is a good language too, just for different needs. Compile-time memory and thread safety without a GC, zero cost abstractions, that's a very appealing proposition if you need correct, high-performance, pause-free programs. (...)
