Holy cow there's an /aoe2 channel... dangus. This game was formative in my teens... few games can compare to it even now. I personally loved AOE2 more than anything in the C&C series, maybe even more than Warcraft 1 & 2.

I remember playing this as well! I watched a few gameplays of the newest one but it doesn’t quite scratch the itch like AOE2 20 $DEGEN

Thanks! I deffo agree, there was this amazing interplay of simplicity and complexity that was absolutely nailed in AOE2, especially using the Age of Kings expansion. Few games ever managed to capture that feeling for me, quite like AOE2.
