To be completely honest I don’t think anyone can say what art is for sure but one thing that states the obvious are the consequences from showing this pieces to the public.

What most artists create nowadays should be seen as a lyrical composition, not just random sounds to make you feel good. If background music for your daily tasks is what you’re looking for then we just don’t see music the same way and that’s okay. Musicians are artists just like painters
