Thanks to Jonathan Protzenko and his team, Python now uses HACL*, a formally verified library, for all its hash and HMAC functions. Any updates from HACL* will automatically be pulled downstream to Python https://jonathan.protzenko.fr/2025/04/18/python.html

I was reading the "Intro to ProgCrypto" book by @0xPARC. To understand the examples and algos better, I translated them line-by-line to Jupyter notebooks. Finally free from FTX! After 2 years, the saga is over 🎉 Was my main CEX and I ALMOST lost BIG. When the fall tweets hit, I laughed but pulled 95% JIC (thanks to tradFi career for op-risk training!). Left a bit for $FTT bounce 🤣. Wrote it off and feels like free money now!

I see what you mean. I’ve been using a bunch of bash scripts that are getting messy. Learning Nix is a relatively small price to pay to update my workflow that will hopefully pay dividends for years to come

Yes of course. I think whether it is sufficient for TC to allow a user the choice to reveal, or to require TC to reveal transaction details without users intervention is ultimately the choice of the regulators

The existing tool from Tornado Cash allows users to reveal their transaction details, which can then be checked by a 3rd party. The tool from NPLabs allow a 3rd party to reveal the transaction details without the involvement of the transaction users. I think they're very different

This is a pretty cool and simple way to modify Tornado Cash protocol to be natively compliant. The design allows the "privacy revoker" with its private key to link the deposit address and the withdrawal address, thus deanonymizing the withdrawal https://np.engineering/posts/tornado-anonymity-revoker-design/
