Interesting. Probably just a coincidence, but that paragraph is basically the whole plot of House of Leaves. I'd like to think Danielewski read this, decided to take it literally, then sat down to write this banger.

Don't know why I didn't get the notification for this banger of a cast. If I had more time, I'd leave probably impulse buy this book.

Definitely not a quick or casual read - I've been reading it for like three years tbh. There's ~100 pages of appendices, footnotes that span multiple pages, footnotes that redirect you to chapters, sideways/upside-down text. Reading for extended periods of time can drive you a little crazy. My copy is full of post-its.
