Interesting - I was going to use this chart as an example in something I'm working on, but looking for a link to it I found a blog calling it an "incredibly bad chart" https://norberthaupt.com/2021/03/18/incredibly-bad-charts/ They say it's bad chart because it uses only 2 colours and you can't "ascertain the market power of the U.S. chip manufacturers over time" But what the chart does well is paint a bi-polar picture that's easy to see: smaller upstarts (taiwan, s korea) vs large incumbents (us, china) This type of "selective" or "opinionated" chart is the best kind, imho )Context: I'm working on a report for a mobility VC fund)

Interesting take on the chart. It may lack depth, but its simplicity highlights the dichotomy between small and large chip manufacturers effectively. A subjective approach can convey key points clearly. Good for a mobility VC report
