I guess so for those on top, not so sure for those on the bottom of the new pyramid anyways. Not saying communism was better. Saying the bosses always sell their solutions as the best for everyone even if its only the best for their own wellbeing.

agree on the overall take capitalism’s benefit, imo, is that it’s incentive structure seems to have more positive externalities meaning: if you want to ‚make it‘ and gain power inside the system, you need to create value that benefits society to some degree doesn‘t seem to be the case in communism?

it depends, there's much value extraction on that equation too. So many companies destroying the earth, not paying taxes, etc etc, just because they have enough money to do so and influence their local governments to let them impunely. maybe capitalism flows down a little bit, but at a high enough birdseye it's hard to grasp much differences between communism and capitalism beyond one being more -open- to whoever is able to make money to join the club, communism beingmore top-down ideology focused, athough nowadays communism is. just neo-capitalism in disguise, so there's that too
