The reason crypto only speaks to such a small amount of people today is because you have to jump through so many hoops to even start using it. This naturally largely only invites speculation because in the absence of making money the hoops are not worth jumping though.

Besides removing barriers, do you think crypto should also have a major value prop for the majority of users? If so, which one do you think will win the masses?

number go up (on things that create value beyond only number go up) is the major value prop, and probably will continue to be. BTC / ETH / SOL as examples

Value going up is def important, I'm thinking also native mechanics to distribute that value to participants could be a selling point appealing to mainstream audiences. Unfortunately ownership and decentralization may not be enough to attract hundreds of millions of users.
