It’s clear some States fear trustless & censorship-resistant tech, especially when it empowers citizens. Cyber-espionage against projects like Vocdoni shows how far they’ll go to stop it. Vocdoni was targeted simply for building a permissionless, censorship-resistant voting protocol. Network States must prepare to face these kinds of attacks.

Hmm.. In my part of the world, "Network States" are a specific type of Techno-Zionist political project, with an open agenda of limiting voting rights to supporters of the corporate surveillance state. In balajis own words here: https://www.thenerdreich.com/tech-zionism-balaji-says-california-forever-is-network-state/ Used as described, a voting tool could be a tool of oppression rather than liberation. I suppose a lot of folks are wanting to keep on eye on this tech, regardless of their intentions.
