Did you know that elective abortion is always illegal in Germany? The protection of the „unborn life“ always outweighs the pregnant person‘s right to bodily autonomy. Seems too crazy for a country which heavily preaches gender equality.

Lawmakers tried to make elective abortion legal in Germany twice, but both times the Federal constitutional court said no no no. They invented a new concept - it is illegal, but will not be punished up to 12 weeks. Abortion-seeking people have to undergo mandatory counseling, to realize the value of the "unborn life" and encourage them to carry the embryo/fetus. It’s one of the most restrictive abortion regulations in “developed countries”. So to answer your question - it happens, but rarely. Laws are being revised currently! If liberalized we can stay tuned for another case before the Federal Constitutional Court 👀
