last year, i started hosting a Topics of Controversy dinner series. each dinner is anchored around a taboo topic and kicks off with a few thought-provoking questions before we dive into a respectful discussion / debate. my biggest takeaway? people LOVE to learn IRL with and from each other. we need more of this.

agree, although i think doing it IRL is more impactful (for us and for society) than online in private group chats. we become better examples and cultural influencers if we’re able to learn how to have intellectual discourse in person — spoken conversations w/ active listening — that we then pass on to others.
