Çanakkale is a Turkish port city, the administrative center (central district, merkez) of Çanakkale ila. Located at the entrance to the Gulf of Çanakkale, on the Asia Minor peninsula of the Dardanelles Strait coast (connecting the Sea of Marmara and the Aegean Sea).
