Adjacent to adhd: recently learned that ppl w autism do not like sharp/harsh noises, and cutlery/tableware are some of the biggest daily sources of these sounds. The irrational love I have for my wooden butter knife has potentially been explained and it soothes my adhd anxiety https://warpcast.com/feeei/0x544dd737

the clanking of cutlery makes me want to scratch my ears off and i would involuntarily get so mad at my parents when they made any sounds with it while eating or serving food or cooking. id always catch them off guard too and they’d be like oh wut? what happened. i feel so bad after knowing since earlier this year why i did that. πŸ₯Ί

The tip came from a youtuber who basically said that a client went so far as to replace all their tableware and cutlery with bamboo and are super happy nowπŸŽ‹
