My closest friend has been in the hospital for three days, and the doctors haven’t allowed her to be discharged yet. She’ll stay for two more days, after which her condition will be reassessed. She just texted me on WhatsApp and said, “Can you bring me a cake tomorrow?” You cannot imagine how much this sentence broke my heart.

Years ago, when Zeynep was hospitalized and her doctors told me she wouldn’t make it, I had called her and said, “Shall I bring you that cake you love?” She had replied, “You can bring it when I get out, sis.” Not being able to give her that cake she loved so much still pains me deeply.

And just now, when Naze asked me for a cake, it brought that memory back, and I broke into tears. But Naze is doing well, and she will come back to me

I wasn’t very active today because, after answering a few messages while having my morning coffee, I got dressed and left home to visit my closest friend, Naze, in the hospital after four days. I brought her the chocolate cake she had asked for. We chatted, and I finally made it back home.

My dear Naze will be okay. Her oxygen saturation hasn’t improved much yet, but she’ll recover and come back to me.
I believe this from the bottom of my heart.
