Contrarian take on Apple talking to Google and others for AI.

Original iPhone launched with a dedicated Google Maps app. Apple learned how it was used and built their own app.

Would imagine they will do the same thing with AI. Get paid like they do for search, but then use usage data to carve off over time.

this isn't contrarian, contrarian take would be the following:

apple fully missed the train on ai and due to how fast ai improves they can't physically catch up

partially because they haven't hired enough ai people (and can't find them no more)

hence killing apple car and moving the team to ai

and this move with car -> ai is so substantial, apple realizes that they are behind on something that's next gen
