Honestly surprised this book isn’t discussed much. It’s a great read about an extremely important moment in the history of cryptography and civil liberties. Plus extremely relevant to today. We are repeating history.

I just finished this last month. I strongly co-sign this recommendation. The extensive background history of NSA secrecy gives additional context to the “clipper chip” drama that I was previously missing
