Maybe we could encourage people to cast more about what their bookish interests are and what kind of reader they are.

It may feel out off place because right now the focus is very much on the books themselves, but even recommendations can become more meaningful when you know who is behind the recommendation.

Hey, thanks for sharing out my idea @picnic!

Since I majored in Philosophy, I’m a heavy non-fiction reader. I love to learn about the history of ideas and the different schools of thought that keep emerging.

Although right now I’m kind of burnt out and would like to read some fiction. Open to suggestions!

What kind of fiction do you like? For modern stuff, I was pretty impressed with Emma Cline’s The Guest recently. Also Hilary Mantel’s Wolf Hall trilogy is a massive achievement in historical fiction. For classics, just re-read The Idiot and it never disappoints :)

I’m not even sure what I like at this point lol, but I’ll check out Emma Cline for sure :)

Wolf Hall sounds great too, but I need to build a habit before embarking on a trilogy.
