What makes an artist successful and how you define a successful one?

For me, the successful artist is the one who puts passion and love into what he does, no matter what happens, continuing to create. If money drives the artist, he is not a successful artist, but a manager.

I think it is more a matter of perception and taste, the rest is just speculation.

But I think the art market rather focuses on sales volumes, exhibitions, and stuff like that
