So, what about the Farcaster airdrop???😭
SnapChain, the one which has just been released, is the data layer, the part of a blockchain that handles data storage and management.
This is a component of a Layer 1, a building block toward the final product. However, I want to stress that while it could be a step toward a Layer 1, we don’t have confirmation of that yet since there’s no further info available.🔍
Right now, SnapChain is explicitly designed to support Warpcast’s social media interactions, lots of transactions, data storage, etc. It doesn’t currently include core Layer 1 features like a consensus mechanism or smart contract execution.💻
Since there’s no definitive roadmap, we can’t say whether they plan to launch a mainnet soon. For now, it’s all speculation.
This might feel a bit like a letdown, but it’s actually a great opportunity to position yourself well for a potential future airdrop. Let’s not forget they raised $180M, with Paradigm as a lead investor.👀
