It’s mind blowing how little critical thinking skills and/or empathy the average American has on Twitter. This “bailout” wouldn’t be for the 1%, it would be for the average Joe who bet on himself with the wrong bank who has to make payroll for anywhere from 5 employees to 10k.

SVB backed lots of start up tech companies yes, but it also backed clean tech farmers and other smaller businesses in California. There would be a ripple affect on basic things like groceries because over 1/3 of our American produce comes from CA.

Farms and small business in CA have already been affected and suffering by sever weather conditions like floods and freezing temperatures which has largely cut crop numbers for this year. So produce prices are already going to be up as is because of this + current inflation.

That is worse for the average American across the nation who is already struggling to buy eggs.

On the other hand SVB backed mortgages for entrepreneurs who wouldn’t get approved for them at other banks. If these people can’t pay their mortgages there would be a lot of foreclosures in the area. This isn’t a one industry issue like everyone wants to make it seem.

Everyone talking about how bailing out the bank would cause even more inflation in a post pandemic economy that is still recovering isn’t thinking about what would happen if these average middle class workers didn’t get a paycheck.
