Ethereum is an open protocol - extitutional by nature. 

That means its assets are permissionless & freely circulated, and kept open by a culture of free improvisation and empirical imagination. 

Open protocols use pseudo-institutional forms called extitutions to help protect & maintain them. Think of these as temporary storefronts that formalize the open dimensions of the protocol. 

Orange County’s Brotherhood of Eternal Love (who formalized the open dimensions of the LSD scene) is a great example of an extitution. @ethereumfndn is another great example. 

Extitutions scale horizontally, not vertically (for the below reasons). Anything less is counterproductive.
