Creative work done "for exposure" (aka "hope labor" that earns a pittance at best) was a huge problem long before crypto arrived on the scene, to be sure... but sadly I think the situation is getting even worse.

Threads like this one are sobering to read, but there's an element of relief, too, because I'm reminded that the problem is mostly attributable to extractive structures, and not my own failings as a writer.

Ever since this thread started, I've been thinking, why do they want AI to be an artist so bad? 

I know AI is helping where it's needed like in the medical but why not have the conscience to let artists, who weren't even earning much before, just be?

Or is there another angle to this?

I believe in the onchain economy. I'm in love with music, art and literature.

AI's role in art can be controversial. While it can democratize access to creative tools, it's crucial to ensure that human artists are supported and valued. Balancing innovation with fair opportunities for artists is key.
