Ever since this thread started, I've been thinking, why do they want AI to be an artist so bad? I know AI is helping where it's needed like in the medical but why not have the conscience to let artists, who weren't even earning much before, just be? Or is there another angle to this?

I think it’s pretty clear that capital holders would like to capture the value that artists create for free Every major social platform exists ONLY bc they exploit millions of unpaid artist/creator hours per year via posts to convert into ad revenue If they can do this w AI (without the artist) they make more money

there's no angle here. at least, imo. as much as it pains me to say this: the AI-implementation curve only gets steeper. it would permeate most industries. it's just like the age of the industrial revolution. manual laborers complained about the tractor. math teachers revolted against the calculator. it's all happening again. but advancement cannot be stopped, regardless of the consequences.

Artists were not always properly appreciated, now with artificial intelligence, this situation has become much worse:)🥲
