Your work friends will be utterly devastated. 

For a few weeks. Then they move on.

Your family, partner, maybe a few friends will be devastated and will suffer your loss forever. 

Your internet friends might not even know what happened.

This actually sort of happened to me. One of my friends that I met in crypto back in 2018 passed away under very weird circumstances. I messaged her a bunch of times but I just assumed she ghosted me then I got pregnant fell out of the loop for a bit then one day I find out she’s been dead for over a year.

Suffice to say that now I check on people a bit obsessively if I have any weird feelings or suspicions. To this day I can’t believe that I haven’t heard about this sooner though, she was pretty well known and one of the founders of Cointelegraph and almost no outlet covered this.
