You guys have no idea how excited I am about AlignedLayer. It really opens up a lot more possibilities in ZKPs on-chain. Cheap verification is just the tip of the iceberg.

The common points of all these proofs is that they are posted on-chain. That's expensive.

 There are two important trends here 1) the number of proofs is increasing and b) their costs is increasing.

For sure you get cost savings even at early usage.

I’m building /opacity where we do ZKPs over web2 APIs. These APIs can change arbitrarily.

The nice thing about AlignedLayer being an AVS is I can have that system handle the changes, which simplifies contract design.

I assume it just aggregates different proofs before posting the root one on chain. This is a real benefit for early projects, but much less so to established ones as they already before aggregation of their txns.

to me the most fun part with ZKPs getting cheap it that the "we can ZKP everything" experiment will get steam and that experimentation will uncover use cases that aren't thought of today

It’s an EigenLayer AVS that verifies ZKPs so they can be brought on chain more cheaply.
