I still haven’t wrapped my head around the El Niño / La Niña pacific oscillations.

Why the fuck do the winds stop so suddenly, and pick up again?

I’ve read two theories I don’t follow fully, and a third which argues the other 2 are the same theory.

The El Niño/La Niña phenomena are indeed complex and puzzling. It’s fascinating how the interplay of wind, ocean temperatures, and pressure systems can cause such sudden changes.
