How many products are there where privacy is a core part of why it’s successful? I’m leaving scale of “success” ambiguous so I get more answers.

Brave pays you for advertising right? Do they collect data to help targeting?

"Even with Brave Rewards enabled and a Rewards Payment ID assigned, we never collect your browsing history or similar information, and we can’t derive this information from your contributions to content creators or sites. We also cannot tell which specific Brave Private Ads you’ve seen or interacted with."

"While the categories of ads that you see and when you see them are inferred from your browsing activity, the data are stored on your device and are inaccessible to us."

Even if you take them at their word, this position makes it harder to make money. I’m not a believer in the brave model where the returns made from ads is distributed back to the users. This is back during the “tokenize everything” craze.

Not sure how much % of ads revenue they give back, if it's a small % then maybe that could work? I'm with you that tokenize everything was a craze, but it's not all bad, specially for open source projects that have a huge uphills
