Seeing crypto projects continue to host events in Dubai is a strange phenomenon. Either it’s due to ignorance or outright malice, but it makes a clear statement that there are some groups of people they don’t want involved in the project given if said people were to show up, they’d be executed/imprisoned.

This is quite a narrow westernized view IMO. Why should Dubai's  residents be deprived of access to a whole industry, just bc the government of that jurisdiction prohibits certain values/actions?

Projects should advise guests they may want to avoid coming to Dubai, but otherwise I find such exclusionary view very woke

Ofc I do. And I'm fully sympathetic to individuals being left out bc their lives might be in danger. I'm born and raised in Turkey and although it's not as bad yet, these examples are our nightmare scenarios.

I do agree with you that the people of these regimes shouldn't be punished, but when the government is that corrupt... the world is very complicated.

Considering if I set foot in the country I’d be murdered, state-sponsored style, I’m okay with cutting economic ties.
