@heavygweit
did you know peru is home to the International Potato Center where they have a gene bank that stores the seeds of 9,000+ potato species they also have another seed vault in the andes that the indigenous communities take care of in an effort to also preserve potato diversity in living plants and not just frozen storage but if you want to get REALLY serious about potato/seed conservation, then norway's Svalbard Seed Vault is the way to go it's located only ~1000 miles from the north pole and was built into the side of a mountain in order to be resistant to earthquakes, nuclear war, fires, etc. it also looks cool af
