How do you aporoach deloads? How do you know you need to deload or is it just a part of your overall planning? And how much do you decrease load, with decreased volume, reps, sets?

Depends on your program/exercise prescription. Deload can happen after going heavy for a few weeks. You basically hit 50-70% of 1x or 3x rep max weight for 10-12x. reps. Deload shouldnβt be too easy- sometimes people think this. You can even start Deload at the start of your new strength programβ¦. Example progression: Dec: Tempo training 6-8x reps Jan: Heavy 5-8x reps Feb: Heavy 3x max March: Deload 10-12x (resetting into new cycle or quarter) Hope this helps!
