Here is a trick I love and use all the time many people don't know about. When your ssh connection freezes, instead of closing the terminal window you can use ENTER ~ . escape sequence to drop back to your local machine. Do you have such small tricks that you use often during development?

Job control! (^Z, fg, bg, %1). Great for simple process juggling when you find yourself in a bare bones shell without screen/tmux. I meet a lot of people who've never used it.
