Respectfully, it's easy to wax poetic with flowery language to disguise discourse. This felt like a lot of words to say "Yeah, Right! We don't believe you..." before getting into the tangible changes and effective usable commentary. This exchange was also interesting to me as a spectator because the poster took time to paint an elaborate picture, but matched it with suggestions that reflect a far more limited understanding of skateboard culture than I was anticipating. Personally, I reject this notion that skateboarding is "lo-fi" and "low budget" so we should keep it that way by "leaning into it." This whole thing could be an opportunity to empower skateboarders, especially the young skaters that were suggested to be invited. Perhaps we could pay them for their creativity too. Buy their skate films. Post em to Thrasher etc...

All this leads me to believe that there are hidden nuances to the way we propose, the way we convey our ideas, and where/how they are discussed. That Nouncil call had WILD energy, but was a great place to convey the much needed emotional context that is lacking onchain. The international nature of this space combined with platform divides make this all an interesting playground to play in, but ultimately cadence matters.
