What's the best way to gift a newbie crypto? 

I shouldn’t know their seed phrase nor be the owner of the wallet; they don’t care to manage these funds (yet). 

Do we not have a service that securely facilitates key transfer/custody?

Every time I’ve done this they’ve lost the keys immediately lol

So I’d back it up for them and tell them to move it to another wallet when they’re ready

Yeah part of my concern. I can totally just hold it for them of course, but it's a pretty lame gift and doesn't give them any direct skin in the game.

In my experience they think it’s cool but most inevitably mess it up
