Reposting from /healthcare, but would love this channel’s thoughts! Is the reason we see less women engaging in strength training due to stigma of “muscles” on women, lack of childhood encouragement, or something else? Clearly women benefit greatly, but statistically, women are less likely to train strength

IMO 2 reasons: 1. Narrative. "Lifting makes you bulky" and that's not the goal for a lot of women (spoiler: it doesn't w/o a crazy diet adjustment) 2. Lack of education on our own health. Women are told in their 40s or 50s that they need to build muscle to avoid things like osteoporosis, but it's too little too late.
