How to think about Farcaster protocol data

has me thinking about channels gating/data

do you see a future where channels can be
1. permissionless to cast in (no host)
2. “centralized” w full/partial host control

then let the users decide which they prefer?

do you see this being on a client by client basis?

yep 2 is what we have, at least how i see it

tbh i think it’s working really well, as long as the ability to create a new channel remains open in perpetuity

for number 1, i guess i’d just be curious to know if it’s even possible to have a fully decentralized channel where the creator gives up all control of it

1 is could only work if you show the user content based on their graph.

2 is what we have now with hosts?
