to all the artists affected today, know this: farcaster is open to build on and the incentive opportunities here are also open to ANYONE wanting to reward ppl/communities here do i believe degen will be here long term? yes do i believe there will be MANY other opportunities to earn in fc’s economy? yes this isn’t downplaying that artists were significantly impacted by this decision (likely unexpectedly by degen team) - and i think the szn 12 ban should be reversed while keeping the emissions cut but my point is, the fc ecosystem itself is going to have tremendous opportunity bc of how fc is setup - an ownership based social network that any apps can tap, the TAM is literally the global economy so, hopefully we see some reversals and change from degen, and again i do think degen will succeed, and find a way through this and at the same time, we have to zoom out and see the massive opportunity unfolding here across the entire farcaster eco, of which degen is just a single piece optimistic 🌱

lastly, fair incentive systems are a work in progress, we are off to a great start here! i think it’s incredibly important we voice our opinions while also giving time for these systems to be figured out change will continue to be the only constant, same as ever

I’m so happy you posted this. I think artists would benefit from zooming out and seeing the bigger picture. Hopefully they do and don’t leave instead.

thanks! there’s so much good happening here and i believe it will continue, my hope is degen is a part of that! but it won’t be the whole part, bc that’s not what fc is

Yes. You are the voice of reason we needed today. It’s so hard to see so many upset artists but big picture is this place is awesome for way more than just degen.

My friend, the key point in all of this is not in the values, individually 200 or 300 dollars does not make you richer or poorer. The issue is the trust that was shaken and the way it was conducted. A rule is a rule, combined is not expensive. Changing this on the last day, inventing something new and accusing a large part of those who are here building all this together with dishonest times is not right. Banned or not, with claim allowed or not, the fact is that trust in the project for me was hurt. Let him follow his path and I follow mine. Seeing many of those who took advantage of trust and flaws in the code still benefiting, while the artistic community is affected mainly in its reputation is not a place I want to be. Life is made of choices, Jacek made his. I do mine. I really agree. FC is not DEGEN, DEGEN is an important part of all this, but just a part. I believe in everything here, so much so that I've been here for a long time and I'll continue here, doing what I believe in.
