to all the artists affected today, know this: farcaster is open to build on and the incentive opportunities here are also open to ANYONE wanting to reward ppl/communities here do i believe degen will be here long term? yes do i believe there will be MANY other opportunities to earn in fc’s economy? yes this isn’t downplaying that artists were significantly impacted by this decision (likely unexpectedly by degen team) - and i think the szn 12 ban should be reversed while keeping the emissions cut but my point is, the fc ecosystem itself is going to have tremendous opportunity bc of how fc is setup - an ownership based social network that any apps can tap, the TAM is literally the global economy so, hopefully we see some reversals and change from degen, and again i do think degen will succeed, and find a way through this and at the same time, we have to zoom out and see the massive opportunity unfolding here across the entire farcaster eco, of which degen is just a single piece optimistic 🌱

lastly, fair incentive systems are a work in progress, we are off to a great start here! i think it’s incredibly important we voice our opinions while also giving time for these systems to be figured out change will continue to be the only constant, same as ever

Well said. We are here to support ourselves no different than the big names are able to do to monetize on X, IG, YouTube etc. This is part of how we keep doing what we do and this is why there was such a passionate response to last seasons decision. FC has given many a place to be able to connect and earn where other platforms limited reach and has strict monetization requirements. I believe in FC. I believe in Degen. I’ve spent 2024 building here and will continue to do so

Of course ! When they implement rules, they should make official instead of unofficial changes because we believed the DEGEN. Now, I doubt whether I could trust DEGEN because I haven been banned. It’s affecting the relationship and cannot think of long term.

I wasn’t banned but so many of my artist friends are banned and the way Jacek handled (or not) the situation is not acceptable. The artist community is hurting after hustling day in and day out - they deserve better. Very unfortunate and sad. I don’t feel very optimistic right now tbh, Erik!

exactly! and let's not forget all the opportunities degen has already provided to us. What happened sucks and I don't agree with the way it went down, but people are quick to turn their backs and forgot all the good that has come from it.

Great sentiment. Degen is just one LEGO in the social network protocol it can be replaced, adjusted, and moved around. That’s the beauty of it. You can’t change the creator incentives on X. You absolutely can make your own on FC. It’s a great time to be here.

As an artist myself I just gotta keep on doing what I do regardless of the ban and rules that can be implemented at any time without notice. Getting visibility and engagement is hard on here and I hope it doesn't get worse with these changes with people losing interest in warpcast due to degen

I absolutely agree with you, but I have lost confidence in degen, I think we will go through the same thing again because of the rules that were introduced and implemented just before the claim. I have a lot of doubts about it at the moment and that diminishes my faith in degen.
