I’m doing more normie interviews (e.g. ABC, Bloomberg, etc.) now and I’m trying to get non-crypto people excited about crypto apps they might be using in the next 2-5 years. 

Obvious ones I use are stablecoins, NFTs for tickets, opening up gaming economies. 

But what are some others I should be highlighting?

Stating the obvious here lol but social media! 

Farcaster and other blockchain based social networks solve the problems inherent to existing, corporate social media platforms- 
Difficultly balancing free speech and censorship, prioritizing corporate interests over those of their users, and not allowing the creators who are generating all the value for these platforms to own their audience or their content.

When users own their identity and social graph, social network lock in goes away, so apps (like warpcast) have to work harder to retain users.

To play devils advocate, I don’t think non-crypto-folks care about this that much.

Compare it to buying concert tickets. Saving the ~30% fee tax is motivating to anyone, they don’t need to buy into any decentralization philosophy.

personally i think ultimately user incentives will win out on social - the attention economy is vast

ppl don't care yet, until they realize that finding 1k ppl they vibe with here leads to more financial and social incentive than 100k followers on insta

after incentives, when ownership becomes the norm, obv owning social identity makes a ton of sense

for sure, the authentic conversation is def something that can be felt

in terms of financial incentive too, in the last few weeks i've been able to claim

>over 750k of $degen - all attention value that would have gone to social giants on another platform
>0.025 eth for touching grass and putting it onchain in /base-creators - base rewards ppl for permissionless marketing in this and /base-builds 
>35 op for casting photography in /onchainsummer 
>multiple nft drops for being active in channels

wallet connectivity paired w channels changes everything here, communities are strong

Yeah that definitely resonates, I’m seeing way more engagement and activity here with < 500 followers than I am on Twitter with 70k. It feels like the early days of social again.
