access to opportunity is expanding rapidly across the globe today i likely don’t need to live in the usa - my home country - to maximize my opportunity, 5 yrs ago i don’t think i would have said the same not only do i believe i have equal or close to equal opportunity living in many other countries, ironically i feel i may have more opportunity bc 1. the cost of living is drastically less in most places relative to even mid/small tier us cities, freeing up capital to invest in opportunities 2. many countries are on steep upward trajectories, by experiencing various places firsthand not only does it help create global mindset, it likely also provides more ability to discover and capture outsized opportunities all of this said, i still believe there is tremendous upside and opportunity for ppl in the states too, especially those who take a global mindset - many are already doing this overall, i see all of the above as positive sum 🌱

Would that be your experience if you were born today outside the US or another similarly affluent country? This seems like a privilege we have because of where we come from. I know for a fact that if I were born as poor I was in the US 40-odd years ago somewhere else today, the odds of success would be stacked against me.

I honestly feel like I don’t want to live in the states anymore. My life is literally just work to pay bills. Feel like I should just move to Brazil where my father lives a happy life.

I think after COVID, the idea of remote work solidified for many fields, opening up a lot of new possibilities generally.

This is so true cause access to opportunities here has grown tremendously, and I no longer feel that I must move to a country like the USA or UK to achieve my goals.

As far as the exchange rate advantage is concerned, you are quite right. The US dollar has a favourable arbitrage opportunity in many countries today, and this makes it advantageous to live or invest in those countries, so if there is a country that is pleasant to live in and has investment advantages, why not choose it?

Absolutely, it’s amazing how much the world has changed. With so many opportunities now available globally, living in a different country can actually open up new and exciting paths that weren’t as accessible before. It’s a great time to explore how these changes can benefit you in unexpected ways.

I love how you said most, not all I am about heading out for a protest in my country (well my 2nd one) the #endbadgovernance protest and I’m hoping that I do not get killed (similar to what happened 4yrs ago in the leki toll gate massacre) The cost of living here is messed up, and the chances and opportunities to change one’s life is being destroyed by said government, they recently put a ban on cryptocurrencies stating that if you’re caught trading or partaking in activities concerning it you’re a criminal To cut things short, access to opportunities is expanding globally but also diminishing rapidly in some parts of the world and people need to fight for their lives to get access to it so if you see someone trying his best to succeed I ask that you (not you specifically mate) try not to judge but to encourage and if you can help out in making that person succeed.

Where I come from, a lot of people are actually looking to travel out to the us cause of the opportunities which are not provided here but I’m just going to thank the internet Unemployment rate when I’m from is high I’ve not had a proper 9-5 but thanks to the internet and multiple opportunities, I’m able to make a living for my self
