Our mental universe can be enchanting, joyful, tragic, or comic – its value lies in our ability to transform it. Creating enchantment requires effort but makes life richer and more joyful. Embracing terror as truth is lazy and banal, reducing life to fear. Enchantment counters this pessimistic habit.

As in being enchanted with the underlying, parallel, but equally valid reality of joy and hope. Makes sense?
