If you listen to your curiosity it’ll take you to the edge of what’s possible and beyond If you start mapping the world of the possible, you start with what you know. At some point you learn that many of these things were once also at the edge of knowledge. As you start to reach the edges of the map, there are dragons and other fantastical creatures. Why? It’s because at the edge of our (naturally where our curiosity will eventually take us) lives literal and metaphorical dragons, undefined and yet to be tamed beasts of the unknown that you will have to fight and overcome. And through overcoming probably come to appreciate what it means to become a normal part of the map

So true. I very much recommend the book "When we cease to understand the world" which is about brilliant scientists (Heisenberg, Grothendieck etc) glancing the "truth". Each of these scientists pushes beyond the known world, and what they find there drives them mad, to some degree or another. Great read.
