You're right that it's just a new label on decentralized resource allocation networks that have been around for awhile. They bootstrap supply using cryptoeconomic incentives, and then open marketplace competition drives down price. Livepeer has grown to transcode over 3,000,000 minutes of video/week for 100's of apps.

Small correction - this is a Farcaster community project by many developers - I’m just helping with the spec. Not a FIP yet, but would love to get feedback from the core team it can become a FIP.

Haha true, but in different ways. The religious community is quite concerned about online censorship, and in generally trying to move away from Facebook. A lot of the requirements seem to be aligned well with web3 technical capabilities. But there is a branding issue. Web3 speculative component is a turn off.

If it’s important the spec to be compatible with clients that don’t support frames, why not just make og:image a requirements remove the need for of:image?
