I think @artthemort feigns experience he doesn't have. Things are more nuanced, especially the trad art world. There are for example endless editions of Warhols that are cheap and lack quality, as we all know this didn't effect his wider market. I think this is captured by your article which is beautifully written!

think about how many wall calendars and posters people have of Dali too. the more i think about it, the more this feels like it's art gallery/auction house centric.
