artists, would love to know your thoughts on this: choosing the right platform to mint your art can feel overwhelming, especially given how quickly on-chain technology evolves. but if you're constantly jumping from one platform to the next without settling down, how can you expect collectors to connect with you?

I think artists swing to the new platforms hoping to get in on what’s hot at the moment but realize that they all end up being about the same in that it moreso depends on the artist to put in the marketing effort for visibility as the platform won’t be that magical place their art gets collected. I’ve def tried to limit it but have dabbled into Zora and exchageart most recently for base and sol editions

I feel like hopping around used to irritate collectors a lot more than it currently does. I think sticking with one platform / chain would really be more painful for artists in a market like this. maybe big $ artists can pull it off but the rest of us need to spread out.

for sure a challenge. to me different platforms have different strengths and weaknesses, while the sad reality is most platforms are NGMI, so a lot of my thinking is about using platforms where the art can survive even if the platform does not

We jump around to make sure we have art accessible on as many platforms as possible because each platform has a different audience. Not all collectors are multi chain/platform. Also, you can always contact an artist you are interested in and connect through a conversation. I’m sure they’d be happy to direct you to platforms that hold their work.

Bands tour city to city ..country to country , playing the same tunes for years , sometimes different versions of them . This is how i treat my art now . Platforms pop up here and there ..i mint my set of “hits” ( aka my personal faves ) see how they do and then onto the next . Sometimes i reach for my “deep cuts” ( of course my personal choosing too 😅) and just keep going . You know as well as i do eric that we aren’t getting the “glory days” or “rarible days” back , so why harp on the past? ( not saying you do ..but just an generalization overview of what i see other artists griping about ..i’m guilty of it too lol) i just want my art to be seen and shared .. 20+ years of not being financially successful with my art no matter what i do ..i’ve just come to a point where I just need to create art and not spiral into an endless loop of “not making it ..i must fucking suck !” headspace . Blah i ramble ..dunno if that makes sense at all but i try haha 💙🤟
