i just learned that I've been earning $MOXIE even though i haven't been participating in the ecosystem. not exactly clear on how that works. but claimed 62K (valued at ~$172 USDC). 🤷‍♂️

Moxie just works. Everyone is participating. All casts, likes, r/c etc earn moxie. It's just a matter of claiming it. You are just being a Farcaster with no regard or strategy for Moxie, but you still earn it.

yeah; make sense. i'm just going to keep doing what i do. Moxie baiting seems like a lot of work. and i just want to have genuine conversations about interesting things.

You earn moxie on every cast depending on who likes or interacts with it.  This is why you hear about Moxie baiting and stuff,  people want very high earning accounts to interact for moxie 🙃

There's more to it with Moxie, trading fan tokens, having your own fan token, some locking stuff. Idk either, but I see ppl doing these things.
