when you're a kid you go out in the world and the world is full of possibility

you grow up and others / and the world convinces you that that's not the case, you have to struggle, we have limited resources, and limited time and whatever 

yeah, it turns out that is wrong

the world is full of possibility/opportunity whether you are there or not. it does not care about you in particular. your job is to listen, tune in, and become a conduit  rather than forcing something to happen. 

i find the term "inner child" to be sad because it implies an alternate self is needed...to be yourself

Inner child, outer child, triangular child - I don’t really mind, but I do think it’s returning to some sort of child like state - I agree
